|
Asad Ismi is a writer on international politics specializing in U.S. and Canadian imperialism and their impact on the Global South. He is the international affairs correspondent for "The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives Monitor", Canada's biggest left-wing magazine by circulation. Asad is author of two books, nine reports, five radio documentaries and 100 articles published in 20 magazines. His last three radio documentaries have each reached a global audience of more than 30 million people. Asad has written for 21 progressive Canadian labour unions and non-governmental organizations including the Canadian Union of Postal Workers and MiningWatch Canada. He is winner of a Project Censored Award for his article "The Ravaging of Africa" which was released in 2007 as a radio documentary.
Asad holds a Ph.D. in War Studies from the University of London (England) and taught for two years in Vietnam. He is a regular guest on community radio stations across Canada and the U.S.
